Provide Veteran to Veteran support to hospice patients through volunteering as a companion for a little as 1 hour per week. Stop by to chat with a patient, attend a pinning ceremony, present patient with a challenge coin, or even hold a Vet-to-Vet cafe to visit with other Veterans. We need volunteer Veterans throughout northern Colorado. AccentCare Hospice is searching for a dedicated team to further the We Honor Veterans Program! Volunteers can work weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, or yearly with this project, as it is ongoing and education-based. We Honor Veterans (http://www.wehonorveterans.org/) is a collaborative program developed by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the Veterans Administration to further the veteran-centric care of our nations heros in their final months. WHV teaches hospice providers and their partner organizations about veteran-related conditions, veteran-centric policies and procedures, and community outreach for veteran care/advocacy.
